• Have your voices heard

You’ve seen the town halls. Americans are rightfully concerned with the direction our nation is headed.

I’ve been in Congress since 2001. I spent seventeen years in the State Senate, and prior to that, I spent a lot of time traveling the second district with Congressman Floyd Spence and Senator Strom Thurmond. Needless to say, I’ve been involved in public service nearly my entire life. And in all that time, I’ve never seen people as concerned as they are today.

I’ve been touring the district all week, speaking with folks about the most pressing issues facing our nation, and holding town halls to discuss Nancy Pelosi’s liberal health care agenda. Folks are fed up with the direction in which Speaker Pelosi and President Obama are leading our nation, and they are concerned about our future. Most people I talk to understand our nation cannot keep spending the way President Obama and Nancy Pelosi want to spend.

We cannot spend our way out of our economic situation and pretend that our economy is just going to get better. Even China is getting concerned with the amount of debt we are piling up.

I’m encouraged to see so many South Carolinians and individuals all across America standing up to have their voices heard. As more and more facts about the Obama/Pelosi government health care takeover plan emerge and more Americans get involved in this debate, it has become clear our nation can do and must do better.

Friends, we have to fight back. As your congressman, I can’t do it alone. I need you to pick up the phone and send out emails. Let the White House, Members of Congress, and your fellow citizens know you do not want government in charge of your health care decisions. It will take a grassroots movement – one that has already begun in neighborhoods all across South Carolina – to stop President Obama and Nancy Pelosi from enacting a government takeover of our health care system.

I’ve taken to the television and radio airwaves and fought in the halls of Congress. I even had an amendment added to the Democrat health care plan that urges any member of Congress who votes for the public option to use that government plan. But now it’s up to you.

I know you’re concerned. I am too. So let’s get to work. Please pick up the phone and call your friends. Start typing now and email everyone you know. Spread the word and let’s stop this government takeover of our health care system.

    Sincerely,

    Joe Wilson

As a recent vet of Afghanistan (10th Mtn Div 1-87 Inf) and a concerned citizen of what our country is going through with ALL of our problems that we have created for OURSELVES.
I am ashamed that you are an elected official and stonewalling badly needed efforts to radically overhaul our failed system.
The health care I had as an Army vet is what all tax payers deserve. I could not have stayed healthy had it not been for all the hard working American taxpayers.
I owed them for that and grateful.
Now I’m a hard working poor white American who is struggling with a system that often overlooks guys like me even though I now keep men like yourself in a nice house with a nice paycheck and quality health care all paid for by men like me.

I’m looking forward to your impending defeat. Have a nice day sir.

Thank you for standing up out of the crowd of weak Republicans and speaking up to this very dangerous president.. You are the first person in this country to do that. You are our hero. Don’t keep apologizing. Democrats love weakness in opponents. And don’t give in to the weak Republican senators and congressmen who want you to grovel. Don’t do it.

I have always respected the office of the Presidency, however, I do not feel that our current President extends the same amount of respect to us. I am a christian who believes in gun rights..i.e. a domestic terrorist according to President Obama and Ms.Pelosi….ordinarily I would have said shame on you..but…….given all that they are trying to do………WAY TO GO JOE

Never apoligize for the truth. When democrats and librals start making public apoligies for the hurtful and outrageous slander they are responsible for in recent years then perhaps they can have a say in what other people apoligize for. Rep. Wilson, we are behind you out here and wish more of you in Washington would stand up and speak out the truth. Mr. Obama, we know you lie and Rep. Joe Wilson did not clue us in. Believe it or not, we figured it out all by ourselves.

I mirror your concerns re: accountaiolyt and oversight on the issue of illegals Although I live in Washington State, I support your concern re: illegals aka “undocumented ” acessing health care. Before we can fix the problem, we need oversight and enforcement of how tax dollars are currently being spent; the entire system needs an overhaul and more importantly accountability.
The president is incorrect in that even today, illegals are draining our health and human resouces. They currently use healthcare services via coupons. They are given the opportunity to apply to college under HB 1079 and they pay in-state tuition in Washington State. They access public health and community health services and support. They access food stamps. Re: hgher education We need someone to really look into this issue. University of Washington increased their tuition 15% this year. My daughter’s quarterly tuition is $2663.00 but that’s not the half of it. Illegals gain access into our colleges and U.S citizens like my daughter then have to compete with them for access into college, prestigious prgrams e.g Schools of Business, Communication, Engineering. and institutional aid and scholarships. I shared my concerns with her counselor and the college and -guess what? She validated my concerns and issues It needs to stop and U.S citizens are concerned about healthcare—the next battle education and social services. It needs to stop!

      Senator Wilson,
Thank you soo much for your guts to speak up and call Obama the liar that he
is. He has lied all summer about this health care takeover and I’m sick of it.
You, had the GUTS to stand up and speak the words that most of this country
would have liked to have said. God bless you. I hope you saw the crowd in
Washington this weekend. The know about the lies too.
