Joe Wilson A Hit At Capitol Hill Tea Party
by Joe Wilson on November 6, 2009Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC), who famously yelled out “You lie!” during a speech to Congress by President Obama, just spoke to the Capitol Hill Tea Party, receiving massive applause immediately as he came to the podium.
“Speaker Pelosi didn’t mean for you to be here,” said Wilson. “In fact, back in July, Speaker Pelosi meant for the takeover bill to be passed, it was supposed to be over in July. But fortunately the American people found out, they found out that senior citizens were under attack, by squeezing senior citizens half a trillion dollars. Small businesses found out about the taxes that would virtually eliminate small businesses in the United States.”
He also credited this past Tuesday’s election in Virginia and New Jersey as a sign of the people making a difference already — and talked about his own experience in New Jersey.
“And then, I know firsthand of the success of the people of New Jersey. On Sunday, I had the privilege to speak at the Morristown Tea Party,” said Wilson. “Here I was, a friendly member of Congress from South Carolina, I was simply urging people to vote, to participate in the election to change the incumbent governor. It was sort of shocking, but later that day the incumbent governor asked me, and said I shouldn’t have been in that state. But hey, I’m grateful, the voters of New Jersey acted, they produced change. Thank you for being here, we can make more change next year.”

You had as much right to be in that state supporting Gov Christie as Obama had to support Corzine. Thank God we have you Joe. You’re welcome to come to GA and speak to the voters any time you want. We want people who believe in their conservative convictions. No lip service.
We do not want candidates who are supported by ACORN. That’s the first clue there is something wrong. Individuals who still think the Constitution means something. Small Gov, fiscal constraint, states rights, willing to stand up to the Union and not let them take over the country…….
Don’t let the liberals back conservatives into a corner over social issues. I don’t believe in abortion nor gay marriage, but the liberals cannot make this the major issues. The major issues are JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, ECONOMY, WARS………
Don’t let the MSM drive the conversation to the social issues. Do like the liberals and just start talking about JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. Start off by reminding them that unlike Planned Parenthood who is looking to make more money by pushing abortions (use the recent resignation of the Director) that republicans/conservatives will create real jobs. Talk about the jobs that could be created in Natural Gas and our other natural resources that would employ everyone, while also keeping the environment safe.
And climate change…………start indroducing the thousands of scientists who agree with a clean enviornment but can prove that global warming is not a scientifically decided issue. Look at the film “Not Evil, Just Wrong”. Don’t let the liberals continue using lies to scare people.
There are so many things that you guys can do without giving up your conservative beliefs. This is what happened in 2008. The liberals made it about abortion and gay marriage. The American people have rejected gay marriage. Let the gays have their civil unions. Let the church’s perform the wedding vows. Marriage belongs in the church.
If you have to talk about abortions, there is plenty you can say. Americans should never have to pay for other peoples and especially other countries abortions. The liberals have filled our schools with marxist propaganda. Make sure that if their is going to be classes in school about sex, that the 3D films are shown and that our high school kids see the effects of abortion. You can’t teach having safe sex without showing what happens if you decide to get an abortion. There are plenty of videos out there.
Same with global warming. This can’t be one sided.
Education. Let’s get back to education……..not propoganda and indoctrination. Good grief. There is so much out there that have been proven to be going on in our schools. Bill Ayers is a college professor….how the heck did that happen.

I stood with you yesterday on those Capitol steps after riding a bus from Chattanooga, Tn with the same group I joined for DC9/12. We arrived back in Chattanooga at 4am this morning tired but satisfied with our show of support and very proud of you for addressing the crowd and allowing everyone to express their gratitude to you because you stepped up and took a great chance. By this courage to voice you opinion, we have joined you.

Congressman Wilson, I applaud your strength of character and your backbone. If there is any way you can get a message to the rest of the GOP leadership (especially Newt), I would appreciate it.
Please tell them that catering to moderates is not the way to go. We want our party back and we are trying our darnedest to let them know they need to embrace the conservative principals once again.
The GOP has not gained favor because they have become more conservative. They have not moved, but the democratic party has dropped dramatically toward liberalism. It may seem like happy days for the GOP for the moment, but if they fall back into their comfort zone the people will not put up with it.
Tell the GOP this can be their defining moment in making our country great again. You have seen a glimpse of it, please implore them to take notice and do the right thing.

I can’t help but marvel at how Rep. Joe Wilson keeps expressing exactly what we’re thinking. It was Pelosi’s words in July boasting that she had the votes to pass healthcare that motivated me to start writing all 535 members of Congress and ask them to stop the government takeover of healthcare. It took me three months–from July 22 to October 28, but I got it done–although, apparently, it didn’t seem to make a difference. But it was her demeanor back in July which led me to think exactly what Rep. Wilson said at the tea party! When the President gave his speech, moments before Rep. Wilson spoke up, my husband was shouting virtually the same thing at the tv! I think Rep. Wilson speaks for many, many Americans all across the country. Thank you, Rep. Wilson, for standing boldly and defending America and the constitution. We’re with you!
