I believe that Washington is intentionally killing jobs for the purpose of increasing the amount of people who are not only dependent on government help, but who also need healthcare. Most people (w/ families) who lose their jobs cannot afford to pay COBRA; unemployment just won’t cover it; and, after awhile, national healthcare starts to become a little more palatable.
I got news for you Washington. You can ram this down our throats, and pretend WE THE PEOPLE don’t exist out here; BUT, we do; and WE are growing. Perhaps you feel that w/ continued voter fraud you will still be elected come next November; but, I wouldn’t bet on it if I were you. Your continued corruption will result in our growing possibly 10 times as big as we are… maybe even more than that. We are a force to be reckoned with, and you will dealt with on election day… start packing!
Meanwhile, why don’t you stop w/ the financial shell game of our money; stop trying to ram through these massive bills that pay off your special interests; and start doing something that will actually put our workers back to work. Try doing something constructive and cut some taxes. Anything less shows you aren’t serious about trying to create jobs!

I’m sooooo happy to see someone in congress who is demanding answers. Where is everyone??? Why hasn’t anyone in congress gone after the laws he (Obama) has broken or at least bent and unconstitutional actions and bills?

While I am interested in knowing where the stimulus money went, you folks in Congress have a much bigger problem. You have become non-players by a shadow government. Congress now enjoys the lowest approval rating in history. If Congress does not square itself away soon, “We the People” are going to put all of you in the unemployment line and demand that you get out of our house! Investigate the stimulus if you want to, Joe, but we know that is not the real problem. We have socialists and communists running government and we are simply not going to stand for it. Revolution 2010 and 2012 is coming via the ballot box and will not be denied, Joe.
Finally, someone wants to trace our money. As business owners we know where every dime of our money goes. We have to. The IRS would audit us. Its time we audit the same goverment that takes our money. GO JOE GO………..

Any idiot knows that you can’t spend money to create jobs, the government needs to get out of the way and let the private sector take over. Also tax cuts would help a lot. P.S. In answer to Pat Irish: It was on the Rush Limbaugh show that I heard him say the following: Obama has paid off Hillary’s debt to Mark Penn, which was something like $6 million, $5.7 I think is the exact amount, of stimulus money, money designed to create jobs in the private sector. Burson-Marsteller is a giant worldwide PR firm, they don’t need a bailout, they don’t need any stimulus money but it was said, “Yeah, it was to preserve three jobs there.”
Ditto! I, Dan can’t believe these liberal Senators are still blaming wall street and President Bush for the 2008 crash. They think we’re stupid, but there forgetting one thing, we know that their liberal mortgage lending policies was actually what brought our country to its worst economy ever.

I agree that we need a full disclosure of where the money that has already been spent has gone. One of the big promises was the increase in infrastructure and road projects. I work for a company that is closely tied to both but have not seen the positive impact that was promised.

I have believed from the beginning of Obama’s presidency that his intention is to bankrupt America and then rebuild it in his image. So far, he has been tremendously successful.
He has wrested power from the people and given it to his “cohorts in crime”. If some of the “good” democrats don’t start thinking about the good of our country, and less about their polictical career, this country will fall.
I do not believe that Obama is interested in a second term; he intends to complete his work in this term. He then will turn his attention to his true goal of becoming the first leader of the “New World Order”.

Barney Frank’s Great Recession hasn’t ended until everyone who was working, is working again, at a similar wage.
I know where the jobs are at there in India and China. Met a guy in line at costco yesterday who had just lost his job. He was working for this company for 28yrs as a manager. The company was sold the new owners brought in some people from India, as soon as the new people were trained on how to do the job the new owners closed the plant sent thier people back home and now the work is being done from India. Merry Christmas. And our goverment can’t figure out where all the jobs are going and why we have such a high unemployement rate. HELLO! Wake up and smell the roses.

I am an Alabama resident.
I think plaintiffs’ lawyers impede the country’s economic recovery. I also think they undermine business ethics. They particularly stand in the way of sensible medical malpractice reform as a way to lower the nation’s health care costs.
I have a blog How To Combat Plaintiffs’ Lawyers where I record my efforts to communicate with lawmakers, judges, attorney generals and academics, among others, about how I believe plaintiffs’ lawyers ill serve societal interests.
I receive no remuneration for any of my activities. I am not a member of any tort reform organization, chamber of commerce, or any other organization that has an interest in opposing plaintiffs’ lawyers.
Congress is debating more stimulus, health care reform, and other governmental action to get our nation’s economy back on track, and the country is moving toward the 2010 elections that will be a referendum on how the current Congress performs about these important domestic issues.
I hope you, as a United States Senator or Representative, or as a candidate for the Senate or the House of Representatives, will look at the contribution the plaintiffs’ lawyers make to the country’s economic difficulties and will consider, advocate and propose legislative action to lessen the problem of the plaintiffs’ lawyers.
