• Merry Christmas from the Wilsons

by Joe Wilson on December 24, 2009

    Dear friend,

This Christmas is going to be very special for me and Roxanne, as we will be celebrating it with our newborn granddaughter, Anna Grace Wilson. We truly cherish our children and grandchildren and always enjoy spending time with them around Christmas.

How are you celebrating the holidays this year? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Christmas is very important to my family.  We have a wonderful dinner, exchange presents and reflect upon the many blessings we have been given, including the wonderful country where we are so fortunate to live.

It is also a somber time as we remember our brave men and women serving overseas who are not able to spend the holidays at home. As a veteran and the father of four sons serving in the military, I am incredibly thankful for their sacrifice and will continue to hope for a safe return for all of them.

We would love to know how you are spending this holiday season. Will you please leave a comment on JoeWilsonforCongress.com and tell us how your family celebrates the holidays?

Roxanne and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and we hope you are able to have a wonderful time with your family and friends.

    Sincerely,

    Joe Wilson

Merry Christmas and may God Bless you and your family. Congratulations on your new addition to the family with Anna Grace. I flew up to Atlanta from Orlando Christmas morning to join my daughter Bernadette and husband Cris and grandchildren Ellis and Tate. Ellis just turned 3years old on 12/21/2009 and my wife Jane drove up for that event along with the birthday and Christmas gifts. We had a great Christmas dinner together!

      Your friend,

Dear Joe and Roxanne, Karon and I spent Christmas at home this year. We usually go to our families in California and Arizona but the current economic situation has precluded that. However this has probably been one of the best Christmases we have experienced in a long time. Having been out of work for almost a year (back to work now) we have examined what really matters in our lives. The birth of Jesus Christ has always be a celebration in our families but this year it really feels more special than ever. The inability to give the material items that were always so “important” was replaced with things from the heart and hands. I have forgotten how great the feeling of giving of ones self. God truly blessed us with the birth of his son and the birth of the United States of America and we pray that he will bless you, your family and our fight for our country next year. Thank you for being so honest and speaking out – you have given us hope too. Bruce Nunes.

Thanks Joe for all you do….. here’s another donation for your fight. If everyone in Washington had your values, freedom would rule instead of the present day tyranny…. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless you always!

Joe, my wife Donna and I will be spending a quiet Christmas alone reflecting the consequences that have transpired over this past year. Our once great country has been taken over by a band of Socialists, Marxists, and Communists. We are thankful for the steel in your spine to have spoken out for the conservative majority. We will continually work to right the wrong that has been perpetrated upon this nation. Our correction will come in November 2010.

Merry Christmas, to you and your entire family!
      Bob & Donna Schwartz

    6. The Christmas was a time of celebration of the birth of the Lord for our family. My wife and I especially cherished the photo this year of ourselves in front of a Christmas tree with Joe Wilson … The photo is proof that not everyone on Capitol Hill is politically correct.

    7. Dear Joe, Roxanne, and Family,
Our whole family wishes you guys a Very Merry Christmas!
We celebrated our Christmas at Thanksgiving time…in the mountains of Colorado. All my kids were there, as well as the grandkids. It’s the first time we’ve broken with tradition with the others in our families.

Mary and I went to Savannah, Ga for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to attend midnight Mass at the beautiful St Johns The Baptist Catholic Church — we did this seveal years ago and enjoyed it so much we had to repeat it.
We wish you a very successful New Year!

      Dear Wilson family,
It feels rather strange ..but I feel very close to your family.
You have a wonderful husband, father, grandfather. I hope
you are all proud of his honesty and love of country.
I do not even hear from my representative as much as from
you. May you be blessed in your career and in your personal
life. For whatever happens, you have your family, and
your love of country. There are so many of us whose voices
are not really heard, but WE ARE HERE…and we are watching.
      (and we are praying)…
I am a senior citizen, and have seen much in my day.
I will not be harmed by the dishonest, conniving far left wing
for I know My God is watching over my country and finding
      us men such as yourself.
      We all need more faith!!
Keep it us and may Our Lord bless your every decision.
      Joan Field

    10. Spent Christmas with four generations of my family, including my ninety year old mother

    11. Jess Ryburn says:

Hello and a late Merry Christmas. I am not one write and make comments, but since this is such a good occasion, I think I will. I want you to continue with your efforts to make our country great again. I gave some money right after the president’s speech and will try to give some more soon. I also want to give some to defeat Senator Reid. I know how much family means to you and the same here. We didn’t get to see anyone this Christmas, but are hoping that our family will get to come and be with us next week. May the Lord bless and keep you and make you prosperous and happy as you work for the American people. God bless you! I’ll run for now…. jess

    12. Lyn says:

Merry Christmas Joe, Roxanne and family,
Joel and I enjoyed having a peaceful Christmas with our two girls. Unfortunately, Christmas Eve services were canceled due to weather. It was still a beautiful evening as we celebrated the birth of Jesus in the quiet of our home. Our tradition is appetizers and snacks since Joel and I usually play and/or sing for services.

Next year is going to be a tremendous year for Republicans. Through all the turmoil these past months, people may now be able to see we are truly the people’s party who stand upon principles. I wish you the very best for 2010 and appreciate prayers as we gear up for my IA House Representative campaign.

God bless you and Happy New Year,

      Lyn Tackett

    13. Judy says:

My family hopes that you and your family had a very Merry Christmas and we wish
you the very best in the coming New Year. Keep up the good fight for our country, we need more people like you who will stand up for the values and priniciples that this great country was built on. We need to be strong in this coming year because you know the progressives will not stand down. They want this great nation to succumb and become subservient to the rest of the world. We cannot lose because this country is the last bastion of hope for those who love freedom.
      God Bless.

    14. Deborah Sloan says:

Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family! Here’s to the great Republican, free market Capitalist revolution of 2010! Here’s to repealing Obamacare! And, of course, here’s to your successful campaign for re-election in 2010!

    15. jane says:

      Dear Joe & Family,

      Merry Christmas!!!
After being unemployed for 11 mths, I am now working on a temporary assignment four hrs from home. It should be good for a couple of mths. My son’s follow up after 2 major surgeries for cancer are coming back negative, NO signs of anymore tumors! Maybe things are getting better, but I do not believe it has anything to do with Washington. God is my keeper and guide.

I am proud of you for taking a stand and hope you will continue. Both my parents were democrats, back before that party was taken over. Most of my life, I have been an independent, and then I went republican. Today I am for whoever honors and follows the constitution and bill of rights. My loyalty is to my country, not any party. Please pass this on to the other republicans who still have honor and integrity and stop those who are trying to sell my country to the highest bidder and bow in submission with no pride of who we are.

On another note, my last job assignment was a temporary while an employee was out on personal leave. When she returned, I was shocked that she spoke very little English and was being paid half what they were paying me. Who said all the jobs were going overseas? Not all of them, many are being filled right here by people from overseas.

It’s really nice to see the FAA, the Bank CEO’s & many high ranking officials having such a nice holiday while the rest of us are treading water to keep afloat!

    16. Erez Semaria says:

      Sorry for the late response
I hope you had a merry Christmas with your new grandaughter
May 2010 be a prosperous year for your family and the American people
      Sincerely
      -Erez

    17. Kathleen says:

Spending family time together; discussing what the year has brought each of us; both good times , and hoping things will get better times.
We are all thankful that there are those in D.C. that still have the values our founding fathers had, (like Joe Wilson!) – Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness – not as the democrats have tried to shove in our face at every turn – Big Government, Higher Taxes, and Controlling our lives. Those in the TEMPORARITY majority have committed the ultimate disgrace; taking away hopes and dreams of Americans, especially our children.
With all things there must be balance so as not to impede the rights of anyone. Keep fighting Joe, and never be silenced by those who try to hide the truth.
Wishing you and your family the best for 2010. As difficult as it is to not totally lose hope, we must have FAITH that good will prevail. God Bless America.

    19. Carolyn says:

I have spent this Christmas in prayerful Thanksgiving for the America I have always known…
And there has been a certain sadness in that America has changed so very much in just one year.
      And the sadness is scary.
God bless you Congressman. Your courage is needed.

    20. Louise says:

We spend our Christmas the same as your family. We are thankful for all that we have. We pray for the future of our grands that they will have a job after college and that cost will come down for education and incomes will rise . We pray that we will be able to live on our Social Security and Retirement and feel badly for all of the people out there who have neither. We pray that our State will come into the 21st century and realize that minimum wage will not feed a family and that being a Right to Work State is not helping the working man and woman. We pray that the morals and honesty of the people we elect to stand up for us improve and that our children and their children will once again be able to pray in school or anywhere they wish and that God never be taken away from us in any form. God Bless America.

    21. Harmik Carapetian says:

Merry Christmas to you Wilsons. I want to thank your four sons for their service to this great country. I served in the Army from 69 thru 71 (Vietnam). This Christmas we had take out from Mary Calendars for dinner and spent it at the hospital in San Diego with my mother in law, wife and daughter. Mom fel and broke some bones but hopefully is on her way to recovery. She is 84 now. With Nobama care, they would have probably pulled the plug on her. God bless you for your good work and also your family. I wish you, your family and this great country a wonderful 2010.
May God bless America and save us from the new evel doers.
      Harmik Carapetian

    22. Doc Jackson says:

Merry Christmas Joe and Roxanne. Congratulations on the new grandbaby. She will be such a joy forever. May God bless and keep her all of her days. Margie and I will celebrate Christmas with family here in Batesburg. We are so blessed to have another Christmas together again. God has blessed us more than we deserve and yet He keeps on blessing. I am so proud to be a child of the only living God. I hope and pray for you Joe and your family that this year brings great things to the party. Stay safe and keep the faith we have in a wonderful God. Sincerely Doc and Margie Jackson

    23. Ruth Dixon says:

Hello from Post Falls Idaho!! Thank you for your Christmas letter. My family – which includes husband, daughter, son-in-law and two grandgirls celebrated Christmas initially at her home to watch the kidlets open gifts and breakfast and then at our home for dinner. Family is the most important thing to us along with our Christmas traditions. These traditions – and lots of the same recipes – have endured since I was a little girl. Very comfortable and happy.

On another note, I’m so pleased to hear your shout to this so-called president of our country. It seems that act drew us to you like a bolt of lightening. My prayer is that there are a lot more like you out there.

God Bless you and yours and God Bless America!

      Ruth Dixon

    24. Jeff K says:

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for your service to our country and for your continued fight on our behalf. Congrats your new addition to the family, babies help to remind us who we are really fighting for.

Please continue to call them like you see them, we have you back out here in the country.

God Bless you and God Bless America.

    27. Marcia Becker says:

Merry Christmas to you, Joe, and your family. Keep up the good work and keep fighting. It’s time to get out the big guns and fight with every fiber of our being.
My husband Richard and I spend Christmas at our home in Lakewood, WA. He makes Christmas especially fun with a fantastic display around the Christmas tree of trains and Dept. 56 Northpole and an amusement park. Lots of lights and sounds. Neighbors and friends love to come see it every year and take pictures. We love this country and do not want to see it go down the drain!

    28. Yaftahe and Ana Williams says:

Congratulations on your precious granddaughter! We had a wonderful Christmas celebrated with family and friends. We are so thankful for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without His love and sacrifice for us, we wouldn’t have all that we have today. I also thank God for our military men and women and also for you, please continue to speak up for us, we are behind you and support you, we just wish we had more people like you in congress. Stay stedfast to your values and convictions, and do not compromize them for no one. Seek God first in all that you do and He will open doors that no man can. May God bless you and your family this coming year.

    29. Larry Graham says:

      Dear Congressman Wilson:

This greeting is belated, because I have been doing a lot of running around lately. First of all, two blessing you’ve enjoyed, one, we celebrated the birth of lord Jesus Christ, and, two, you have a new little person in the Wilson family, congratulations. I’m very fortunate, my daughter lives only a mile from me, and my Son lives only two miles away, so Christmas for me as a breeze. Leaving out all of the neat stuff they give all of us old duffers as presents, I’m most thankful for the fact that my Family was intact and very healthy for the holidays. Belive me Joe, all of us conservatives out here in California talk about you and some of the other members of Congress routinely. Our devotion and support of your’s and our cause will not waver. God bless you and your’s during the holidays.

      Larry Graham

    30. Aliza Bolton says:

Thanks Joe, for standing up and speaking out.

My husband, James, and I spent time with family. He’s been unemployed
since April 09, and of course we did not indulge in presents, but having
the family together was a great blessing and gift of the Lord.
We had a hearty dinner and thanked the Lord for his Son, Jesus, and
the gift of life he gave to us.

I just learned that those receiving unemployment benefits will be paying
taxes on those benefits. Since unemployment is not earned income, I believe
this shouldn’t happen. I don’t know what many of those unemployed
      are going to do.

      Sincerely,
      Aliza

Mr. and Mrs Joe Wilson, Thank you for letting me comment. My family from Kalispell and Miles City Montana were here in Billings Montana to share Christmas with Bob and me. We have 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. We do not like what Obama is doing to us and the future generations. I have tried so hard to get Baucus and Tester to change there minds about the health care and cap and trade but they are so liberal it really scares me. I was born in 1929 and feel like I have lived in the best years of America. Please do whatever you can to get this mad man stopped. Betty Maupin, Billings MT.

Thank you again for being one of the only real men left in this ridiculous Congress full of non-representatives out for their own agendas and personal gains and whom do not care at all what we the people think. Please hang in there because we need you and more like you. God Bless you and yours and THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

    37. Joyce says:

Dear Joe & Family–This is both a belated Christmas wish and a message of thoughts for the New Year.

Congratulations to you and your family on the new granddaughter!! We are South Carolinians living in Texas–yet we ALWAYS celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas the ‘Carolina’ way–thanking God for his son Jesus; having children and grandchildren close, staying in touch with friends around the world and praying for them too.

I pray for you and other Congressmen and women–including Democrats. I am especially thankful for you and your courage. My prayer in the last few days is that everyone in Congress and the media–and American homes will face reality–reality that our government is not honest, open, or trustworthy–and address it. We Americans don’t need more money, jobs, or healthcare as much as we need a good solid dose of HONESTY in our goverment. And we need more HONEST individuals like yourself in our government.

Forgive me for the rest of this email…The recent attempt by a Yemen ‘terrorist’ to blow up a Delta flight urges this tirade near the end of 2009.

      For:
DO AMERICANS UNDERSTAND that the only thing that the Yemen terrorist did NOT do to create suspicion from security representatives and our ‘guvment’ was hang a sign around his neck saying:

“I AM ON THIS PLANE TO BLOW ALL OF YOU UP” ????

So, now I am thinking about the total incompetence of our governement in protecting its citizens. The plane and its passengers were saved by God and the passengers–everything else that was supposed to prevent this was not available, in place, or in force. So, what’s in store for our children and grandchildren who will become the future men and women in America? Will they make it by ‘chance’?

–yet it is not enough to say that ‘Not all Congressmen and Congresswomen are dishonest”—if Congress, Czars, federal agencies, and the President allow even ONE member the luxury of:

      Not paying his/her own taxes yet staying in office or being appointed to positions that impact all of us; accepting payoffs for votes;

      Allowing individuals who have been convicted of crimes to serve in Congress or for the President;

      Accepting improper influences from lobbyists for himself/herself or his/her own state;

And: stretching the truth to benefit a Party.

When even one member of Congress or the President’s staff and Czars does any one of these (and hundreds of of these instances are occurring in our government and Congress)–then our government is DISHONEST to each and every American citizen. Yes, our government is dishonest because individual members permit it. Our government is abusing legal Americans who pay taxes–taxes in spent without regard by Congress, government agencies, and the President.

Now–today–an overwhelming number of working, taxpaying Americans believe that our government is not to be trusted for our safety, health, education, or welfare. Major decisions are being made by individuals with no business qualification or when needed, specific qualifications for extremely important positions that should protect or benefit America and Americans.

Congressmen and women vote to increase their salaries–and while this is not illegal…it should be. And while I am on it…any member of Congress who is convicted of a crime–and/or does not pay his taxes should be removed and should not get any sort of retirement of separation pay or insurance when he/she leaves. Americans want members of Congress, government agencies, Czars, and the President and his Cabinets to operate under the same rules and laws that taxpayers and businesses operate under.

In contrast to any representative in our government–including the office of the President–Americans who have run small businesses while paying their bills, satisfying customers and clients, and taking care of their employees–they are 500% more qualified and capable–than members of our federal government and Congress– of turning America’s deficits into positives in a short time. This means ‘pay your bills with the money you have–and don’t spend any money unless you can afford it!”

And small business owners can also understand how to run Homeland Security and TSA and various ‘intelligence’ agencies to protect the United States and its citizens. And they can do it with results that cost less, and with a practical approach to knowing what the problems are and addressing them.

Can Americans not be amazed at the elections and appointments of inexperienced and/or unqualified members of our President’s office, Cabinet, Czars organization, and Congress? Being ‘friends’ or having the same political agenda does not consitute valid qualification for a position–especially when so many positions impact our national interests.

Can we not be in disbelief at our own assumptions that members of Congress are ‘qualified’ to promote any program requiring taxpayer funds or to actuall use taxpayer funds for ANY project?

Do we not KNOW that Congressmen and women DO NOT understand:

      (1) How Much Something Costs, and
      (2) How to pay for How Much Something Costs

Congress, the President, and all of our US Government operates on the the ‘Pot of Gold’ assumption–and that there is always a Pot of Money that is available even if they don’t work for it nor can explain how they spend it.

Buying votes is dishonest–no matter what the reason…but buying a vote of one member of Congress by another member of Congress hurts every American and promotes dishonesty…throughout American and Congress.

Another thing: to ignore anything known and verified to be ‘ILLEGAL’ is a travesty for all Americans–and ensures that we create more and more problems now and in the future for our children and grandchildren.
When we ignore anything ‘illegal’, America loses.

Examine how you feel–your own gut reaction–when I say: “We know that ‘illegal aliens’ are in fact ILLEGAL” … How did you react? Didja say to yourself: ‘Let’s not talk about that now…?”

In the United States our federal and state governments–every facet, agency, and/or position–PROMOTE DISRESPECT for our laws by not correcting ILLEGAL alien activity. Both our state and federal governments promote breaking the law and thus influence our children and grandchildren who see and absorb what we don’t and won’t correct and address. Effects are long term and are repeated. Millions of illegal aliens VOTE and are changing America’s voting results.

But hear me: By not creating a system that enables any individual to become a legal citizen of the US–we ensure that the ‘illegal’ does not and will never fully respect US laws; that he/she is open to taking advantage of America via unpaid taxes and free healthcare (Medicaid) while American taxpayers and workers sacrifice to pay for services legally. This inevitably compounds and limits the ability of any state or federal agency to create workable ‘budgets’ to avoid deficits. In addition, by not addressing the problem of ‘illegal’ aliens–we ensure that there are additional increases for unbudgeted schools (new and old), school transportation, an increasing need for more and more teachers, and the sure-fire increases in crime, gangs, murders, rapes, and the creation of ‘illegal’ alien neighborhoods as evidenced in Texas and other states.

Creating a legal path to citizenship–not amnesty for illegality–creates respect or our country’s ideals, respect for the law and each other.

It is unthinkable that legal American workers and taxpayers are breaking their backs to pay federal taxes used in supporting more than 12 MILLION illegal aliens, but these taxpayers’ funds are now being ‘divy-d up–distributed’ to ‘elected’ Congressional vultures to spend for individual state projects that in many cases harm other states–not to mention increase the amount of money we owe to other countries and organizations.

And why is there NO ONE in our US government–including and especially the President– NOT SAYING:

“America is in a financial crisis–and is leading the world in its inabiltiy to pay its bills. Therefore, all allocations of taxpayer funds to different members of Congress for any state are limited to ONLY projects that are critical to the state and/or to the nation.”

Voters and citizens believe wholeheartedly that our President, our Congress, our CZARS, our Medicare, Medicaid, Post Office, Homeland Security, Immigration, our CIA, and our FBI are inept, inexperienced, and in many cases dishonest. We are at the mercy of unqualified members of Congress, self-interested lobbyists, and public and private payoffs–including payoffs for votes that impact all Americans.

      As a taxpayer:

      I do not want my tax money distributed to any state via a payoff by the head of any majority party;
      I do not want my tax money to pay for mortgages requested by grownups who knew they couldn’t afford to pay for them–this includes requests for increased funding for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac;
      I do not want my tax money to pay for salary and insurance for any member of Congress, the President, his Cabinet, his Czars, or any employee of the government, any member of any government agency who did not pay his/her taxes–at any time, even if he/she subsequently paid it when ‘caught’;
      I do not want my tax money to be used to pay for a government healthcare plan that has been designed and organized as payoffs to various states and members of Congress–without any agreement by than 65% of legal Americans;
I do want my tax money allocated for ‘illegal’ aliens for any reason–if there is not enough respect to follow the law and path to legal immigration, no one is welcome.

Americans are exhausted in giving the benefit of doubt to a President, his Cabinet, his organization of unapproved ‘Czars’, our members of Congress, our CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, CBO, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac–their behavior is dangerous, irresponsible, partisan, disrespectful, unqualified, and immature.

We are a having a great time this Christmas season. Keep my son in your prayers though. He just got to Afghanistan. We are proud of him and all our men and women serving this country. I don’t like what I see going on in D.C. I know you don’t like it either. Something has to be done to stop this tax and spend mentality. Thanks for all you do and keep up the good work. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas was wonderful, we enjoyed each family members company, we discussed raising kids and changes on the job. We ate plenty and gave each other really great gifts. Unfortunately the topic changed to what would we do if any of us lost our jobs, what to do about one family member who is facing foreclosure, and questioning if Obama is intentionally trying to destroy this country. We each felt we have been dumped for each congressman’s own personal concerns. Our congress is not representing us. My husband is retired army, my son is in the Air Force and my Grandson is in the marines, he joined us by the web cam. Also we have one granddaughter planning on entering the marines in mid spring. We love our country, we believe in God, and we want what is best for our country. One family member who was not present choice a life of laziness, drugs, and no morals. We do not feel it is our responsibility to support that life style, we don’t believe in, by sharing our wealth. This would only allow her to continue her abhorant life style. Please continue to speak out, speak up, defend our way of life and the constitution. Please speak out on the news shows. We the people need all the help we can get.

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday driving from Florida to visit family in North Carolina. We did not stop once in South Carolina as we (along with many other citizens) are boycotting your state until it gets rid of such pathetic politicians such as you, Joe Wilson, and your whacko governor. Until the electorate votes for civilized statesmen that actually want to work towards improving this great country of ours, we will continue to decline and be the laughing stock of the world. This country was founded on civil debate, but a member of the armed services such as yourself should be court martialed and censored for your insulting disrespect of our Commander-in-Chief. Families like ours are sick and tired of hypocritical politicians such as you who yell and scream while offering no realistic solutions to our country’s problems. A happy new year for this country would be one which votes people like you out of office.

      God Bless & Keep You,
We do all the traditional things at Christmas, decorations, lights, stockings on the fire place, lots of wonderful healthy meals. We were fortunate to make it a family reunion wit all except one of the ” 40 yr old kids” could not make it. We had the “kids” their “Kids” and their “kids”. Beings they are so scattered all ove the USA we may never be able to pull it off again.
Hope you had a festive relaxing time with your family & friends. Keep up the good fight to represent true Americans.
      The Taube Family

Hey Joe – Have you thought about running for the Oval Office? Then I COULD vote for you! Just a thought – God Bless you in our Congress as is!
