Haiti Relief
by Joe Wilson on January 22, 2010Dear friend,
As you know, a catastrophic earthquake hit the impoverished nation of Haiti last week. Everyday the news seems to be more grim – especially yesterday when a massive aftershock struck the country. Buildings have collapsed, hospitals are filled to capacity and lawlessness is spreading. Tens of thousands of people have died and millions have been affected. Now, we as Americans must stand together to help the people of Haiti in their time of need.
My campaign has made a donation of $1,000 to assist in the Haitian relief efforts. I hope you will join me in helping the people of Haiti in this unfortunate time. Please, watch my video today to learn more about how you can help. Then, share it with your friends and family and ask them to help, too.
Americans are a good and compassionate people. Throughout our history, we have always helped those in need. I cannot stress how much the Haitian people need our help to rebuild their country as well as their lives… and in many cases, to save lives. As the devastating images showed up on our television screens, we all watched in shock. Now we must stand together and take action to help the people of Haiti recover from this terrible tragedy.
Please, watch my video today for information about the ways you can help with the Haitian relief efforts. Then, encourage all of your friends and family members to help, too. Also listed below are many other ways to help.
God Bless you and God Bless the people of Haiti.
Sincerely,
Joe Wilson

Joe, Please encourage Americans to send goods, not cash. I say this because in these horrible economic times, it will benefit our economy more if we do this. Sending cash hurts our economy because it means less will be spent here, which could mean FEWER jobs for Americans!
My Mother’s church has an address where items like powdered Gatorade, baby wipes and snacks can be shipped. Please distribute info. publicly on the best ways to send goods – NOT just cash!
To some, this may sound greedy, but it is wise. The money sent will not be used to buy American made goods!!!
Thank you for listening,
