JOE MEANS JOBS TOUR TV AND PRINT NEWS COVERAGE
Joe Wilson visits small businesses and workers to discuss creating jobs throughout the Second District.

(West Columbia, SC) – Fresh off the Joe Means Jobs tour, Joe Wilson has returned to Washington, DC with a strong message from people in the Second District who are demanding change from Nancy Pelosi and her flock of liberal politicians.

The Joe Means Jobs tour kicked off last Tuesday. Wilson spoke with constituents on a special Joe Means Jobs internet live-streaming video and with nearly 10,000 people on a telephone Town Hall conference call, taking questions from the public. The web steam can be watched here: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/4777634

Wilson’s message to workers and small business owners is clear, under Nancy Pelosi’s control, Congress is creating more burdens for small businesses and not helping them. Wilson says the liberal Congress is spending too much money and not being creative enough to help small business in these tight economic times.

Wilson’s plan to get more people back to work includes supporting HR 470 and other provisions:

-Tax relief for individuals, including stopping proposed capital gains tax hikes.
    -Greater deductions for small businesses.
-Halting the “Cap and Trade” energy tax, which is projected to dramatically boost energy costs for homeowners, small businesses and manufacturing.

Joe rolled up his sleeves with folks at businesses that ranged from Blythewood all the way to Hilton Head. Joe is also promoting clean energy and is pushing for safe and clean drilling for natural gas and oil off the South Carolina coast, which would create jobs and produce a stream of revenue to South Carolina for infrastructure in the form of lease agreements with energy exploration companies.

Wilson also had a little fun, serving up lunch at an Irmo Wendy’s, surprising drive-up patrons during the lunch hour. The Irmo Wendy’s is a favorite spot for Joe. If you’re curious, Joe’s favorite Wendy’s entrée is big bowl of chili!

Continuing his longstanding theme of accessibility and accountability, all of Joe’s events were open to the media. Wilson took questions from workers and media at all of his events.
