Joe Means Jobs in Blackville
by Team Wilson on May 14, 2010The Joe Means Jobs tour made a lunch stop at a regional favorite. Joe Wilson highlighted local small business Miller’s Breadbasket in Blackville, SC. The family-owned business employs around 20 people between the restaurant and gift shop and has been around for more than 25 years.
Joe got behind the serving line and dished up some heapin’ helpings of home cooking!
Known for its home cooking and fresh breads, Miller’s Breadbasket is a regional attraction that even tour buses make a point of stopping at. Joe’s favorite dishes at Miller’s are chicken livers along with a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread to take home.
“I am so grateful to have so many hard-working people serving up such good food in the Second District,” Joe said. “This is a wonderful family-owned business. Tax cuts would directly help a business like Miller’s. I am honored to represent the good people of Blackville and Barnwell County.”
Joe also spent time chatting with Barnwell People-Sentinel Editor Tim Hicks. Joe spoke about his concerns over the need to contain the liberals runaway federal spending and the worries that the economic problems of Greece could spread to other European countries and hurt the US economy.
Here are some pictures of the event. Check back, we’ll have a video coming soon!!
