Joe scores big GOP primary win
by Joe Wilson on June 9, 2010Surrounded by grassroots volunteers, Joe Wilson thanked his supporters for an overwhelming victory in the June 8 Republican primary.
The Associated Press declared Wilson the winner at approximately 8:20pm with a whopping 88% of the vote total. Many precincts in Richland and Lexington Counties reported big increases in GOP turnout compared with the 2008 primary.
“I am so grateful to my family, Roxanne and so many of the hard-working volunteers and campaign staff who made this victory tonight possible,” Wilson said. “I always maintain this is the people’s seat, and I am honored to have earned support from so many folks who don’t want more of the same big government takeovers from Washington liberals.”
Wilson is vigorously campaigning throughout the Second District. Just last week, Joe met with small business owners and workers during his Take Joe to Work Week. Joe says the way to get the economy back up and running is to cut taxes on individuals and reduce the burdens of big government on small businesses.
“You need to walk a mile in someone’s shoes to really understand what they are going through. That’s what Joe means jobs is all about. These small businesses are the ones who will create the jobs that will get this economy back on track.”
