Joe’s 2010 primary numbers show growing support!
by Team Wilson on June 9, 2010The Team Wilson number crunchers have been hard at work. A close look at primary election results show Joe Wilson’s popularity is higher than ever.
Joe received the highest percentage of the vote for any GOP federal or statewide candidate in South Carolina (83.4%)
Even more telling is the large surge in Wilson support across the Second District.
Joe received 20,155 MORE votes in the 2010 primary than he received in the 2008 primary during which he faced the same opponent, Phil Black.
Joe’s 2008 total was 44,783. In 2010, Joe received 64,938 primary votes.
This “apples to apples” comparison shows the large amount of respect GOP voters have for Joe and how Joe’s jobs-focused agenda is resonating with voters who are tired of Washington’s big government takeovers.
“I am so grateful to have so many friends and supporters throughout the Second District who want to stop Washington’s reckless spending habits and create jobs throughout our great state,” Wilson said. “Tuesday night’s big primary victory highlights the commitment of South Carolinians to provide a check and balance on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s out of touch liberal agenda.”
Final vote totals from the AP show Joe getting the highest number of votes of all Congressional candidates and incumbents in South Carolina.
