Team Wilson Note: Joe Means Jobs and even campaign internships! Today, intern Natalie Jacks writes about Take Joe to Work Week, day #1.

Day number one of Take Joe to Work turned out to be quite a success! Joe Wilson’s search for jobs in South Carolina took a thrilling turn at Shooter’s Choice in West Columbia. Today, Joe learned how to be a security officer.

The owner, Pat Brown, kindly welcomed everyone to the shooting range. The large store was packed with all kinds of self-defense and hunting gear, in addition to the shooting range. Before Joe suited up to begin training, The US Chamber of Commerce recognized his efforts to protect and create jobs by endorsing him. Joe discussed his ideas on job growth as well as his beliefs about self-defense and gun control.

“We recognize your diligence in being able to create jobs in this state, create wealth and protect businesses from intrusive government in day to day lives, “ South Carolina Chamber President Otis Rawl said. “This endorsement from the US Chamber is well earned, well deserved and we can’t think of a better person to be giving it to.”

Joe put on his eye and ear protection and entered the shooting range with a gun and ammunition. G4S Wackenhut Senior Instructor Larry Carrington joined Joe to let him earn his badge. After careful instruction, Joe aimed and fired several rounds. He didn’t miss the target once!

“It’s small businesses that create jobs in South Carolina, and I am looking forward to continuing my work with the Chamber of Commerce,” Joe said.

This event was submitted by G4S Wackenhut on the Takejoetowork.com website.

Check back on the blog, all week we’ll be putting up pictures and videos from all Joe’s stops. Joe has three jobs on his schedule in the Lowcountry on Wednesday, so we’ll all stay busy!
