JOE WILSON INCREASES FINANCIAL SUPPORT IN SECOND QUARTER

Receives nearly $343,000, mainly from grassroots supporters

(West Columbia, S.C.) – On the heels of June’s record-setting primary victory, Joe Wilson enters the general election campaign with a fresh infusion of cash from a wide array of grassroots supporters.

Just-released fundraising numbers show the campaign received nearly $343,000 in donations during the entire second quarter (April – June 2010). The vast majority of contributions came from small grassroots donors who gave $200 or less.

“I deeply appreciate this outpouring of support from so many South Carolinians,” Wilson said. “It shows folks are responding to our ‘Joe Means Jobs’ message. With unemployment still painfully high, people are hurting. They’re looking for action. That’s what this campaign is all about.

Joe Wilson is a tireless worker for his constituents in the Second District and people across South Carolina. He is focused on bringing more jobs here by working for tax cuts for South Carolina families and more tax credits and less red tape for small businesses.

Wilson’s “Take Joe To Work” campaign is further proof that the people he represents realize he knows and understands their concerns.

“Folks want more jobs, less taxes and less red tape for small businesses. They’re tired of restraints on their personal freedom, frustrated by repeated liberal government takeover attempts, and very worried about the future,” he said.
