JOE WILSON’S HOMETOWN COOKOUT TOUR ANNOUNCED!

Joe continues to take Cut The Fat message directly to voters with a dozen cookouts across Second District in mid-August.

(West Columbia, S.C.) – Today Joe Wilson announced he will host hometown cookouts where communities can come together, enjoy some great grilled food and discuss with Joe all the ways the federal government needs to cut the fat.  This will be an extension of Joe’s ongoing Cut the Fat tour across the district.

Joe will be head chef, grilling up food and giving his ideas on cutting the fat! Lowering taxes to create jobs and cutting the fat are central themes of Joe’s campaign.  A dozen “Hometown Cookouts” are planned across the district for mid-August, dates and locations to be announced soon.

Wilson is taking the lead to “cut the fat” and reduce taxes in Washington.

Wilson’s Cut The Fat tour visited Columbia and Beaufort before the Second District Democrat candidate finally made a public appearance to propose a meager 3-5% spending cut, even though the Democrat candidate fully supported Pelosi’s historic expansions of government in the so-called stimulus package and the government healthcare takeover.

Under Nancy Pelosi’s control, spending has increased 28% since 2007.

“I will not sit by and watch this spending spree,” Wilson said.  “Small cuts just won’t get us out of the hole that Nancy Pelosi and the liberals have gotten us into. That’s why I have proposed rolling back federal spending to 2008 levels, which would be a 20% cut in discretionary spending.”

“The Democrat candidate’s 3-5% spending cut is like using a butter knife to cut through an oak tree,” said Communications Director Brian DeRoy.  “Joe’s 20% spending cut is true cutting the fat.”

Joe Wilson has long demanded an audit to the nearly $1-trillion dollar stimulus plan.  Much of the cash has yet to be spent and liberals appear to have fuzzy accounting for the rest of the cash.  Unemployment has increased since the stimulus was passed.  Joe has also put forward legislation to repeal the government healthcare takeover and replace it with real free-market reforms – a huge savings to taxpayers.

    Wilson.cookoutJOE’S CUT THE FAT IDEAS:

    * Rollback spending to 2008 levels, equaling at 20% cut in discretionary spending.

    * Freeze spending until federal budget is balanced in 2019, then implement balanced budget amendment.

    * Conduct an immediate audit of so-called “stimulus” package.

    * Reform Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac = $30 billion savings.

*Prohibit hiring nearly 16,500 new IRS agents to enforce government healthcare takeover = up to $10 billion savings over 10 years.

Joe Wilson is serious about cutting the fat! The Hometown Cookout is another way Joe is accessible and accountable to his constituents.  He also invites ideas on how to cut the fat on his Facebook page, www.facebook.com/joewilsonforcongress
