“Way To Go” – From Joe
by Team Wilson on July 9, 2010Joe traveled to Beaufort on Thursday to Cut The Fat at Sgt. White’s Diner. Among the folks who came out to see Joe was 6 year old Jack Carter Worrell.
He may have needed to stand on a chair to be head level for a picture with Joe, but Jack is standing tall in many other ways.
Jack is working hard, raising money for the Independence Fund, a group that helps injured and wounded veterans.
Jack has already raised several hundred dollars for the group by selling lemonade. SC Rep. Shannon Erickson of Beaufort has pledged to match whatever amount Jack raises.
Joe deeply values the service of military members. His father was a member of the “Flying Tigers,” and Joe himself is a 31 year veteran of the Army National Guard and Reserves. All four of Joe’s sons are also members of the military.

Joe Wilson, do more than thank Jack Carter for what he is doing. Agree to match what he raises for his cause. (And don’t make it about politics and trying to make good with the public.) It’s about time someone in the government steps up and admits that our military is under-appreciated and start turning that around.
