JOE WILSON ANNOUNCES DETAILED CUT THE FAT PLAN.
Following successful weekend “Hometown Cookout” tour, Wilson’s three point plan to cut spending will save taxpayers big bucks.

Joe Wilson has a strong record of fighting for taxpayers and against wasteful spending. He believes in limited government and expanded freedom. He is a regular Joe and is proud to drive a pick-up truck with a dented front bumper and nearly 200,000 miles on it. Joe cherishes his South Carolina roots and his Hometown Cookouts are a prime example of his commitment to the people of the Second District through his constant accessibility and accountability.

THE CUT THE FAT PLAN is a series of bills Joe has proposed or supports that will cut the fat in Washington. Joe is outraged by the out of control spending by Nancy Pelosi and her gang of Washington liberals. Government spending has skyrocketed 28% since 2007 when she took control. Such a large debt is crippling our economy, will be a burden for future generations and is killing jobs in the process.

JOE’S THREE-POINT CUT THE FAT PLAN…
1. CUT SPENDING BY 20%
* Joe is demanding a 20% cut in discretionary spending, which would bring spending back to 2008 levels. He then proposes holding it at that level until the budget is balanced in 2019.
* Joe is working on legislation to add a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution to ensure that once the budget is balanced, it STAYS balanced.
* Joe believes spending cuts must start with Congress. He has proposed legislation to stop automatic pay raises for members of Congress and to force up or down votes on any future pay raises and to stop the practice of sneaking them into bills that fund transportation and other essential government functions.
2. REPEAL AND REPLACE OBAMACARE
* Joe has introduced a bill to repeal Obamacare and replace it with patient-centered health insurance reforms. This government program is something the country cannot afford. Obamacare adds 16,500 IRS agents and is a budget buster.
* National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) study says 1.6 million jobs could be lost because of government healthcare takeover.
* Joe’s Siding With America’s Patients (SWAP) H.R. 4944 uses free market reforms, including keeping pre-existing condition coverage but allowing patients to buy insurance across state lines and more insurance pooling for private businesses.
3. “STIMULUS” AUDIT & SPENDING FREEZE
* Joe has introduced a bill demanding the nearly $1 trillion dollar so-called “stimulus” plan be audited by a bi-partisan commission (H.R. 4219).
* Joe wants an immediate stop to any current or future “stimulus” spending.
