JOE WILSON CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE TAX CUTS IN WAKE OF 11% SC UNEMPLOYMENT

Wilson says Joe Means Jobs Plan needed more than ever.

(West Columbia, S.C.) – Congressman Joe Wilson is calling for immediate action after officials today said unemployment has reached 11% statewide.  The SC Department of Employment and Workforce reported the August unemployment total went up to 11% in August from a revised 10.7% in July.

“After seeing today’s report which shows unemployment reaching 11% statewide, we must act to cut taxes and repeal the job-killing Obamacare plan now,” Wilson said.  “In addition, taxes are set to go up at the end of the year unless action is taken.  Small businesses can’t hire people if their taxes keep going up.  That’s why the Joe Means Jobs plan is needed now more than ever.”

Wilson’s Joe Means Jobs plan focuses on three areas:

    1. Cut income taxes 5% across the board (HR 470) and fight Nancy Pelosi’s plans for the largest tax hike in U.S. history (H.R. 301)

    2. Repeal and replace job-killing Obamacare with Siding With America’s Patients Act (HR 4944)

    3. Cut discretionary spending by 20% and hold spending at that level until the budget is balanced (H.Con.Res. 281)

“I have visited so many small businesses across the district that are telling me the same thing, the current tax cuts must be made permanent and they need the government to get out of their way,” Wilson said.  “The choice is clear: We can either give small businesses the freedom to create jobs or continue Nancy Pelosi and the Obama Administration’s job killing liberal agenda of runaway spending, new taxes and government takeovers.”

“Rob Miller needs to let voters know why he’d support Nancy Pelosi and her job killing Obamacare that the NFIB estimates will kill 1.6 million jobs, especially when her liberal policies have resulted in 11% unemployment,” Wilson Campaign Manager, Dustin Olson said.

Joe Wilson’s Joe Means Jobs plan is a proactive approach to job creation.  The three point positive agenda is vital to getting people back to work in South Carolina and across the country.  Click here to read the entire plan.
