My top goal as your congressman is job creation. Sometimes that means working with local business leaders and legislators to get done here what isn’t being done in Washington. We need the Amazon distribution facility in Lexington County. We need the jobs it will provide. We need the investment in our community. We need the business growth that comes from local companies working with Amazon.

Today’s headline in The State newspaper reads, “Senate bogs down on Amazon.” It’s a shame that an obvious job-creating proposal backed with bipartisan support and the local business community isn’t approved with the quickness demanded by the people of our state. After all, Amazon won’t just be good for Lexington County, it’ll be good for the entire state.

One vote from your state senator today could lead to 2,000 new jobs and a $125 million investment in our state tomorrow. I served with many of the current members of the state Senate and I know them to be good people who will do the right thing. They just need a push in the right direction. Please call or email your state senator today and tell them to vote yes for jobs in South Carolina.
