Help Tim Pawlenty Defeat Barack Obama
by Joe Wilson on June 28, 2011A few weeks ago, I stuck my neck out and not only endorsed former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty to be our next president, I accepted the position of state co-chair for our First-in-the-South primary. I do not do that often, but I know Tim Pawlenty can defeat President Obama and turn our nation around. The governor is a man who can and will win battleground states like his own, and can be trusted to deliver what he promises.
Minnesota is known for electing liberals like U.S. Sen. Al Franken, so for Tim to be elected to the state House in 1992 and serve until his inauguration as governor in 2003 is quite a feat. He also earned the respect of his Republican colleagues, being elected majority leader in 1998 and again in 2000. That alone shows he’s a scrapper, but he also emerged as the long-shot Republican nominee in 2002 then had to beat two major general election challengers. Tim’s main issue? Balancing the budget without raising taxes. In office, he came through with true conservative reforms.
The reason I am writing you today this: if we want someone in the White House who is going to tell Americans the truth about what needs to be done, someone who has the courage to get it done, someone who has a record that shows he can get it done, then we need to elect Tim Pawlenty the President of the United State. But running for president is not easy, and we need your help. That’s why I am asking that you make a donation of $100, $50 or $10 today by clicking here now.
Beating the odds and winning wasn’t easy in 2002. In 2006, Tim narrowly claimed victory over the Democrat state attorney general in what was a big year for liberals. In 2008, none other than the great conservative and political analyst — the late Bob Novak — wrote that Tim was the most conservative Minnesota governor in 80 years.
When I last asked for your vote, I said that a vote for our cause was a vote for jobs. It was a vote for limited government, and more freedom. I see that in Gov. Pawlenty. If you join me in helping him become our next president, we’ll finally have an ally in the White House to sign a Paul Ryan-style budget. We need your help, and you can join us at action.timpawlenty.com/contribute.
Tim’s a decent, Midwestern leader, who followed his passion for public service. Some say he’s too nice, too low-key — but that’s what they used to say about me. Still waters run deep. Tim Pawlenty will wake up every day with the objective of working as hard and producing results for the American people.
Bottom line- Tim Pawlenty is a strong conservative and Tim Pawlenty can win. Let’s get Tim rolling on the way down Pennsylvania Avenue. Provide that extra push with a contribution of $100, $50 or $10 today by clicking here.
Sincerely,
Joe Wilson
